Culture is closely related to the economic basis of a society. This colloquium will examine the cultural origin of contemporary Korea based on the insights of an economist who has studied Joseon Dynasty’s history and thoughts on economy, and seek the academic links between the past and the present, economy and culture. Through Prof. Hunchang Lee’s opinions and those of the two discussants, this colloquium will be an opportunity for us to reach a common reflection on contemporary Korean culture.
