Today’s world faces various urban and social problems such as the lack of resources and infrastructure, traffic congestion, energy deficiency, climate change, and rampant viruses, due to the concentration of urban populations and the deterioration of infrastructures.

In this colloquium, SNUAC Center for South Asian Studies is inviting the author of Smart City World to discuss the smart city policy trends and actual cases around the world in EU, the U.S., Singapore, China, India, Japan, ASEAN nations, and the Middle East, and to survey the current situation in Korea’s smart city policy and project progress.

For the analysis of smart city in Korea, the lecture will cover not only the trends but also the legal and institutional structures, major solutions, and R&D, and for the case in EU, specific cases such as Amsterdam’s ASC, Barcelona’s 22@Barcelona, UK Future Cities Demonstrator Competition, and Finland’s Smart Kalasatama will be examined for us to discuss the potential directions for international cooperation such as the overseas launching for smart city hardware and solutions.

※ This event will be held in Korean.
