Manuscript Submission Guidelines
- Manuscripts should be submitted through the online submission system on the Seoul National University Asia Center website (https://asiareview.jams.or.kr). However, foreign researchers may submit via email at snuacjournal@snu.ac.kr (Tel: 02-880-2874). When submitting via email, authors must include the manuscript along with the Manuscript Submission Form and Ethics Pledge, both of which can be downloaded from the Asia Review website.
- Manuscripts are accepted on a rolling basis until the submission deadline. Accepted manuscripts will be published in the earliest issue following the completion of the review process.
- Submission deadlines are 75 days prior to the publication dates: February 15 for the April 30 issue, June 15 for the August 31 issue, and October 15 for the December 31 issue.
- Manuscripts must be original scholarly articles that have not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere.
- Authors should hold at least a master’s degree.
- Manuscripts must adhere to the Asia Review manuscript editing guidelines established by the Editorial Board. Submissions that do not comply with these guidelines may be rejected.
- For articles written in Korean, both a Korean abstract (approximately 400 characters) and an English abstract (approximately 200 words) must be submitted, each accompanied by 4–7 keywords. For articles written in English, only an English abstract (approximately 200 words) with 4–7 keywords is required.
- Copyright for published articles will be transferred to the Seoul National University Asia Center. By submitting the final revised manuscript along with the signed “Copyright Transfer Agreement” (available on the website), authors agree to make their work freely available online.
- Manuscripts for review articles are also accepted. Review articles provide a comprehensive introduction and critique of significant works (papers or books) that have contributed to theoretical or methodological advancements in a particular region in Asia or a specific research field within Asian studies. Review articles hold the same status as research articles, and the same review process and regulations apply.
- Any issues not specified in these guidelines will be determined by the Editorial Board.
