About this journal

Asia Review, published three times a year (April 30, August 31, and December 31) by the Asia Center at Seoul National University, serves as a platform for introducing diverse Asia-related research findings and for seeking the integration of regional and thematic studies on Asia through interdisciplinary research in the humanities and social sciences. By publishing articles in a wide range of fields—including politics, economics, society, culture, and history—under the shared theme of Asian studies, it aims to promote academic convergence and to suggest directions for the future development of scholarship from a multifaceted perspective. To this end, the journal remains open to diverse academic approaches and methodologies and publishes papers by scholars from various fields who are pioneering new frontiers in Asian studies. Asia Review particularly focuses on studies of individual countries or sub-regions within Asia—such as Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, Central Asia, and West Asia—as well as research articles that explore exchanges among these countries or regions, or conduct comparative studies on specific topics. Asia Review published its inaugural issue in June 2011, and was selected as a Korea Citation Index (KCI) accredited journal by the National Research Foundation of Korea in 2017.
