The 2026 Urban Transition Forum, jointly organized by the SNUAC Center for Asian Urban Societies, the Energy & Climate Policy Institute, and Jisikgongyu Researcher’s House, will be held online at 5:00 PM on January 12, 2026.
The first forum will feature a presentation by Dr. Hun Gyo Jang , author of the recent book Infrastructure Transition: A Preliminary Exploration of the Infrastructure Politics of Contemporary Social Movements. At a time when a wide range of questions surrounding infrastructure are emerging, we hope this forum will open a space for in-depth discussion on urban transition. We warmly invite those who are interested to participate.

The forum will be moderated by Dr. Seoungwon Lee (SNUAC), and the discussants will be Jihye Kim (KAIST Anthropocene Research Center), Sangcheol Kim (Public Transport Network Policy Center), and Jeongpil Lee (Energy & Climate Policy Institute).
