Co-hosted by the SNUAC Civil Society and NGOs Program and Toyo GIC, this fourth lecture in the joint series features international relations expert Professor Jeong-Pyo Hong. The lecture analyzes the historical background of U.S.–China hegemonic rivalry and the current global situation through the framework of Tianxia. It examines how escalating tensions between Beijing and Washington are spreading into worldwide disputes, explores South Korea’s diplomatic strategies and possible choices within the U.S.–ROK alliance, and proposes foreign-policy implications—such as balance, engagement, and dual-track strategies—within a rapidly shifting global order.
