The National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Korea (http://www.nas.go.kr/) conducts a project aimed at promoting research and writing activities in the field of basic academic disciplines by selecting and distributing outstanding academic books to domestic universities.

Korea-China Relations in the 19th Century: The Heavenly Empire and the Dilemma of the Vassal Autonomy (by Hyoung-chong Kim), published by the Seoul National University Asia Center, and Buddhism in Vietnam: Origins, Transition, and the Ly Dynasty (1009-1225), authored by Dae-yeong Youn of Southeast Asia Center, have been selected as Outstanding Academic Books for 2025 by the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Korea.
