Climate change is reshaping global migration patterns through complex pathways such as wildfires, floods, droughts, declining agricultural productivity, and rising sea levels. Since international migration has significant social and economic impacts on both sending and receiving countries, it is crucial to understand how climate change influences migration patterns and to develop appropriate policy responses. This lecture examines the current state and effects of environmental migration through major case studies and empirical analyses, and introduces relevant policy implications that can be drawn from these findings.
