Presenter: Terry Kleeman
The speaker, Terry F. Kleeman, is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Religious Studies at the University of Colorado. His research focuses on Chinese religion and thought, particularly medieval religious Daoism and folk religion, while also extending to Chinese ethnography, the regional history of Southwest China, new religious movements in East Asia, and Chinese archaeology. His main research themes include sacrifice, ritual, religious ethics, and divine revelation. In this lecture, he will address the ancient Chinese belief in ti-shen (體神) and highlight Daoist values as part of Asia’s intellectual traditions.
