The May book talk centers on Asia by In-hoon Choi, a new book by Professor Moonseok Jang, and offers a fresh lens on the literary world of In-hoon Choi —one of the most representative figures of modern Korean literature—through the concept of “Asia.” Choi’s works, including The Square, The Grey Man, and The Topic, grapple with themes of division, the Cold War, and colonial legacies. Through them, he consistently sought pathways toward peace and coexistence, envisioning a “third way” of neutrality. His intellectual project ultimately transcends geopolitical concerns, proposing “Asia” as a principle for reimagining global historical consciousness.
