This lecture examines the major changes brought about by global warming in the Russian Arctic and the resulting patterns of migration both within and beyond the region. In particular, it will shed light on how climate change affects traditional livelihoods such as reindeer herding, and the migration patterns that follow, using the Yamal region of western Siberia as a case study.
