Current Status of Forced Migration in Russia and Outlook for Migration Policy

The Migration and Refugee Research Team at SNUAC Center for Eurasian and Central Asian Studies will host a special lecture on Tuesday, December 10, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The guest speaker is Dr. Dmitry Poletaev, Senior Research Fellow at the Russian Academy of Sciences’ Institute of Economic Forecasting and Director of the Migration Research Center.

The lecture will address topics such as the current state of forced migration in the Russian Federation, government systems for data collection and management related to migrants, the legal status of forced migrants, and the future prospects of Russia’s policies on forced migration. The event will feature consecutive interpretation and is open for both in-person attendance and online participation.
