The Asia-Africa Center under the SNUAC has been hosting the ‘SNU Africa Seminar’ series regularly every month since 2022. This seminar series aims to foster a deep understanding of Africa and academic exchange by inviting experts on Africa from diverse academic fields and professional backgrounds.

On Friday, November 29, 2024, the 20th SNU Africa Seminar will feature a lecture by Professor Jaewoo Choo of the Department of Chinese Language and Literature at Kyung Hee University. He will present on the topic “The Meaning of the Global South in the Era of U.S.-China Competition: Focusing on Africa.” This seminar is expected to delve deeply into the significance of the Global South, particularly Africa, within the current U.S.-China rivalry framework, offering attendees new perspectives on Africa’s geopolitical importance and its role in international relations.
