[News] Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Saeed Koozechi, Visits SNUAC
On October 4, 2024, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to South Korea, Saeed Koozechi, paid a visit to SNUAC. The meeting was attended by Prof. Suhong Chae, Director of the SNUAC, Prof. Beomshik Shin, Deputy Director, Prof. Gi Yeon Koo, HK Research Professor at the West Asia Center, and Esmaeil Pasandideh, Deputy Counselor of the Iranian Embassy.
Ambassador Koozechi highlighted the friendly historical relationship between Iran and South Korea and proposed ways to enhance academic exchanges between the two nations. He expressed the hope that the SNUAC, through in-depth research on West Asia and the Islamic world, would foster more vibrant academic discussions in South Korea regarding West Asia and Middle East issues, areas often subject to misunderstanding and prejudice. The ambassador also emphasized the importance of the institute leading balanced and deepened discussions on the security issues currently facing the West Asia region. Both Director Chae and Ambassador Koozechi discussed expanding academic exchanges and strengthening networks between the two countries in the future.
