Regional studies is an important academic approach that explores geographical, historical, and social contexts, providing an in-depth analysis of the characteristics of specific regions. In this workshop series, we aim to explore new possibilities in regional studies. In addition to traditional qualitative research, we will highlight interesting aspects of quantitative research, emphasizing data-driven insights. We will especially explore how data collected from various fields can be integrated and utilized in regional studies.

The first presentation in this workshop series will focus on digital humanities. By leveraging digital technologies, we aim to open new avenues in regional studies and discuss how this relatively unknown field can interact with regional research. The presentation will introduce digital data analysis tools and methodologies, offering an opportunity to share ways to gain new insights through these methods.
