[News] SNUAC Greets the Vice Presidents of the National University of Mongolia

On April 4th, Thursday, 2024, the vice presidents of the National University of Mongolia visited SNUAC to promote cooperation in regional studies.

As SNUAC has been performing the role of a window of cooperative exchanges between the National University of Mongolia and Seoul National University through human exchanges via the visiting scholar program, jointly held international academic conferences, and educational cooperation via the KF Global eSchool Program, the recent visit became an opportunity for both parties to develop the existing cooperative relationship to a higher level.

Badamdorj Bayartogtokh, the Vice President of Research of the National University of Mongolia, emphasized that the university has been developing from an education-oriented university to a research-oriented one and that their cooperation with SNU through SNUAC is especially important in the humanities and social sciences. Dashdorj Sainbilegt, part of the visiting group and a professor in Asian studies received her Ph.D. degree from SNU and has been continuing education and research related to Korea at the National University of Mongolia. She emphasized that efforts are needed from both universities for the current educational cooperation through the eSchool Program to expand into research cooperation in topics such as climate crisis, civil society, political development, etc.

SNUAC is Seoul National University’s platform for Asian regional studies and has been expanding its cooperative relationships with research institutes all around the world. The expansion of cooperation with the National University of Mongolia, a newly rising core university in the Northern Asian region, would contribute largely to the establishment of SNUAC as a platform for transdisciplinary regional studies.
