  • Date: March 27th, Wednesday, 2024, 10:30 – 12:00
  • Location: Room 304, SNUAC (Bldg. 101)

Presenter: Younghee Cho (Researcher, Migration Policy Research & Training for Mutual Benefit)
This colloquium explores the developmental path of Korean immigration policy by examining the historical changes from being a departing country to a receiving country and the current state of laws and institutions. The socioeconomic changes such as the changes in the Korean demographics and the crisis of regional shrinking have caused changes in the immigration policy, and the discussion is expanding into topics such as multicultural acceptance and social integration of Korean society. Based on this background, we will trace the coherence of the systematic connection of inflow-management-integration stages of the immigration policy and other policies, and discuss the specific utilization of the immigration policy.
