On Tuesday, February 27, 2024, delegates from the National Defense College of the UAE visited SNUAC.

Director Suhong Chae of SNUAC gave a welcome speech, and Taekbin Kim (Senior Research Fellow, IPUS, SNU) gave an introductory presentation on the Institute of Peace and Unification Studies. Gi Yeon Koo (HK Research Prof., SNUAC) presented on the history and current status of the relations between Korea and the Middle East, and Soyeon Ahn (Co-Researcher, West Asia Center) introduced the relations between Korea and UAE, along with prospects for future development.

Ahmed Mohammad Almarr, the representative of the delegation, expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and beneficial presentations of the SNUAC faculty and staff. After the presentations, the delegation asked questions about the prospects of Korea-Middle East relations and the implications of Korea’s North Korea policy on the diplomatic policy of the UAE. At the end of the meeting, members of SNUAC and the delegates from the National Defense College of the UAE exchanged gifts and concluded the event.
