  • Date: Every other Wednesday in January-February, 2024, 14:00 – 17:00
  • Online via Zoom

Northeast Asia is showing serious regional inequality in development as a side effect of super fast and mega urbanization. A regular seminar is to be held for SNUAC NEAC’s researchers and other scholars of the field to examine the accomplishments of comparative urban studies for Northeast Asia and other regions of the world. The seminar will deal with the following topics: 1. Concept and theories of shrinking cities; 2. Cases of shrinking cities in the West and Japan; 3. Cases of shrinking cities in China; 4. Comparing and categorizing shrinking cities. It will explore the phenomena and types of Northeast Asian shrinking cities from a macroscopic and theoretical angle. The seminar will thus contribute in sharing future research topics for long-term investigation and establishing the research identity of NEAC.
