In modern society, many human activities are taking place digitally in digital environments. At this point, how will the act of researching Indian classics change?

In this colloquium, we will discuss the digitization of Sanskrit texts, which are the primary materials, as the first stage in performing Indian studies in the currently changing digital environment.

Why do we seek to digitize primary materials, and what are the benefits of constructing a Sanskrit text database? Further, for such a construction of a new research environment to connect to productive and new research horizons, how should the database be designed? These are the questions we will examine and discuss together.
