This event introduces Prof. Hyungkee Kim’s new book, The East Asian Model: Transformation and Sustainability (2023, Routledge), which discusses the archetype and the variation of the East Asian Economic Development Model as shown in Korea, Japan, and China, analyzes the transition of the model for the past 2-3 decades, examines its sustainability, and suggests tasks of institutional reform for sustainable East Asian Model. We seek to derive theoretical and practical implications on policy and contribute to the research on Asian Developmental Model.
