SNU COVID-19 Country Report Symposium


SNUAC Asia Regional Information Center is holding the symposium “Sharing Experience of COVID-19 in Developing Countries-Voices from the Field” jointly with the GMPA (Global Master of Public Administration) program in the Graduate School of Public Administration, SNU Global R&DB Center, and SNUAC Future Earth Program.

This event is an academic symposium in which international students at SNU whose reports were selected as outstanding works through competition for country reports will discuss the responses and experiences of COVID-19 in their countries and seek future measures for symbiosis with regional experts and scholars of related areas within SNU.

This symposium will be live-streamed via YouTube on SNUAC website. We ask all interested individuals to participate in our online streaming.



Asia Regional Information Center (Director Kilkon Ko) of SNUAC (Director SooJin Park) held an online symposium on ‘SNU COVID-19 Country Report Symposium : Sharing COVID-19 Experiences and Responses of Global Society’ on June 23rd jointly with SNU Global R&DB Center. This event was sponsored by Future Earth and the GMPA program in the SNU Graduate School of Public Administration.

The symposium started off with an opening speech by Prof. Beomshik Shin, the deputy director of SNUAC and a congratulatory speech by Joon Kim, the director of Future Earth Program, and continued on to hold an award ceremony for 10 teams that were selected from the ‘COVID-19 Country Report Competition’, which was open until June 15th for foreign nationals studying at SNU.

In section 1, presentations of the Country Report winners were held, dealing with the COVID-19 situations, state response strategies, and major tasks in 9 countries including Vietnam, Malaysia, and Trinidad and Tobago.

In section 2, Prof. Kilkon Ko guided the discussions on the developmental directions for COVID-19 Country Report, and measures of cooperation and co-existence for countries in the post-COVID-19 era.
