The Significance of Using Linked Data and Information-Sharing Platforms
Speaker: Jungwon Huh (Research Fellow, SNUAC)
In the last brown bag seminar of 2019, Jungwon Huh, a research fellow at SNUAC, will give a presentation on the topic ‘The Significance of Using Linked Data and Information-Sharing Platforms’. In this presentation, she will not only examine the social value and academic significance of information-sharing platforms, but also introduce the case of University of California’s combining/analyzing of tax data and university administrative data through the information center project in order to establish university policies based on evidence, and a research that explored variables influencing economic independence of welfare recipients in North Carolina through combining the data of recipients and other administrative data. Through the process of combining the data collected in one area with the database of another through an interdisciplinary information-sharing platform and illuminating new academic implications, we will be able to find the actual value of information-sharing platforms.
