[Event Review] Memorandum of Understanding Signing Ceremony between SNUAC-INCHCAP
Seoul National University Asia Center (SNUAC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage Center in the Asia Pacific Region (ICHCAP) on June 20th, 2019. The Director of SNUAC, Soo Jin Park, has confirmed mutual understandings and interests on the importance of cultural heritage, and on the discovery, preservation, and distribution of intangible heritage with Director-General of the ICHCAP, Geum Ki-hyung, and they discussed cooperation and carrying a joint project.
The UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage Center in the Asia-Pacific Region (ICHCAP), which is the very first international organization ever established within South Korea’s cultural sector with the UNESCO category two to protect and promote intangible heritage with other 48 UNESCO members in Asia-Pacific region, has carried out different projects, including recording/preservation and usage of information on intangible heritage to protect various traditional heritage in Asia-Pacific region, building domestic and international network, and raising awareness and visibility of intangible heritage.
