This book sheds new light on the issue of homelessness, incorporating perspectives of social science researchers in various fields. The fields dealt with in the book include sociology, social welfare, education, and health science, and with this wide range of studies, the book analyzes the issues of homelessness related laws and institutions, policies, education programs, health and medical care, the size and reality of the homeless population and the cause of homelessness. This study aims to advance comparative studies between the homeless issue of Korea and Japan to help understand the similarities and differences of homelessness in the two countries. The book pays special attention to the countermeasures taken by Korea and Japan in response to the homeless issue.
