This spring academic conference of the Korean Society for Urban History is co-hosted with the Northeast Asia Center of the Seoul National University Asia Center. It is themed Urban Transformation in 20th-Century Korea and Northeast Asia. The conference aims to examine both the historical continuity and the distinct phases of urban transformation in Korea as it passed through the colonial and postcolonial periods within Northeast Asia’s historical and geopolitical space. Going beyond a domestic perspective, it seeks to incorporate a Northeast Asian horizon and viewpoint.
