Scholarship is at the core of PIKO. It envisions to be a student organization harboring members imbued with the ideals of genuine curiosity, discovery, and truth-seeking. To pursue one of its missions, PIKO established an avenue for scientific discussions, disseminations, and collaborations among its members and stakeholders— hence, the birth of PIKO’s Research Colloquium.

Create. Communicate. Collaborate. This dogma of scholarship is central to PIKO’s research colloquium. It aims to provide a venue where PIKO and invited speakers stir pioneering discussions in various emerging and advanced fields and topics, anchored on relations- and nations-building, progress, and development. It gathers its members and other interested parties to not just learn the cutting-edge technologies and theories but also to forge lifelong linkages and partnerships.

Specifically, PIKO’s research colloquium seeks to:
invite esteemed plenary and panel speakers to discuss relevant discovery or school of thoughts on topics including but not limited to science, engineering, arts, humanities, education, among others aligned with objectives and core values of the organization;
empower PIKO resident and alumni members to present their original research outputs whether via oral or poster paper;
build sustainable networks and collaborations between and among the participants of the research colloquium; and
produce a book of abstracts of the keynote, plenary, oral, and poster papers presented including the records from the moderators and rapporteurs.
This one-day event is spearheaded by the Academic Committee under the supervision and guidance of the Executive Committee.
