On December 19th, Asia Regional Information Center (ARIC) held the Country Report Data Workshop jointly hosted with SNU Global R&DB Center. The workshop was held for students in the ICT ITPP for foreigners in Technology, Management, Economics and Policy Program in the College of Engineering, with the topic of ARIC’s experience and know-how in the Country Report project.
SNU Global R&DB Center, which has signed an MOU with ARIC, is an institute dedicated to enhancing professionalism in global science technology innovation by fostering global talents, cooperating with industries, cooperating internationally and performing research and consulting activities, based on its global cooperation platform in the ICT science and technology. Students in ITPP consist of ICT experts of countries all over the world, as students of GMPA were in GSPA.
Session 1 “Creating a precise and concise Country Report” introduced the Country Reports being produced by ARIC and explained how the reports should be written with accurate details. Especially, the Q&A session covered which aspects the ITPP students should take note of when writing their country reports, based on the shared episodes of difficulties by GMPA students.
Session 2 “Focusing on detailed features of Country Report” started with introducing the basic modules needed for writing the reports, and let the students experience the database and various visualization modules that ARIC has constructed so far so that students could gain the technical advice that they would need for writing their reports later on. Furthermore, the need of writing ICT Factsheet was explained, based on the Factsheet developed by ARIC.
ARIC seeks cooperation with various institutes in SNU based on County Reports and the platform that it has been constructing since the center’s establishment. This joint workshop with Global R&DB Center will act as a touchstone for the center to build an intimate relationship of cooperation with the College of Engineering.
