SNUAC Northeast Asia Center is inviting Prof. Yeong-ha Ryu (Baekseok Univ.), who has recently published “‘China – Hong Kong System’ As a New Approach of Relationship between China and Hong Kong”, to understand the complexity of the Hong Kong issue that has received global attention. The Hong Kong issue has attracted worldwide attention due to its complexity around not only the Hong Kong-China relationship but also East Asian order and solidarity, and U.S.-China tension and conflict. Prof. Ryu suggests the term ‘China-Hong Kong System’ as a new approach to studying China and Hong Kong within the frame of the same system. Through the lecture that suggests resolving the China-Hong Kong issue not from a singular side but through a two-way relationship and interaction, we wish to comprehensively understand the complex situation of Hong Kong as well as share our thoughts on the problem of East Asian order and solidarity.
