The 9th KOSSDA Data Fair – Reading Changes Through Microdata

  • Date: September 18th, Friday, 2020 14:00-17:00
  • YouTube live streaming

SNUAC Korea Social Science Data Archive (KOSSDA) is holding the 9th Data Fair with the topic ‘Reading Changes Through Microdata’ on September 18th along with SNU Social Sciences Library.

This year, the COVID-19 situation is maximizing the uncertainty in politics, economy, and society at home and abroad. In the events experienced every day, it is even hard to predict one step ahead. But if we compose ourselves and continue to observe the situations and changes around us, we can get at least some insight into the uncertain future. Longitudinal data is data that was collected for the very purpose. Also, RDC allows us to access more detailed longitudinal data. If we effectively make use of RDC which will be moved to SNU Social Sciences Library, we can discover the clues and patterns to changes and predict future changes.

In session 1, we will learn longitudinal research methods through which we can read the changes with microdata, and how to use microdata possessed by Statistics Korea, and in session 2, we will discuss cases of changes in the family, corporate growth, and living conditions.

We hope this Data Fair will help you learn the technique to read changes and acquire information on the data needed for predicting the future.

  • This event will be live-streamed on YouTube to prevent the spread of COVID-19, and is open to all at KOSSDA’s official YouTube channel. We encourage all interested people to join us.
  • Please RSVP and submit questions before the event. There will be a lucky draw for participants who registered beforehand.
