경기도, '2020 DMZ 포럼' 개최(9/17~18)

경기도는 오는 9월 17∼18일 남북 평화 협력과 비무장지대(DMZ)의 평화적 활용방안을 모색하는 ‘2020 DMZ 포럼’을 Zoom을 통한 온라인으로 개최합니다. 아시아연구소 아시아도시사회센터 평화도시팀은 ‘남북한 주민의 공동체: 도시 및 지역 스케일을 접경 공동체’를 주제로 하는 기획세션 1-1에 참여할 예정입니다. (좌장: 박배균 센터장/ 토론: 이승욱 교수, 정현주 교수, 지상현 교수)

기획세션 1-1

• 주제: 남북한 주민의 공동체: 도시 및 지역 스케일의 접경 공동체(Communities of North and South Korea : Border Communities at the Urban and Regional Scales)
• 일시: 2020년 9월 17일 (목) 13:30~14:50
• 내용:
  남북을 가로짓는 선은 분단 당시에는 상상의 산물이었지만, 75년이 흐른 지금 남북 주민의 공동체를 완전히 분리시켜 버렸다. 역설적이게도 상상의 선을 넘기 위해서는 물리적 공간 통합에 앞서 상상력의 힘으로 선을 넘어 공동체를 회복하는 과정이 선행되어야 할 것이다. 이 세션에서는 기존의 남북한 대립 구도를 극복하기 위한 방안으로, 도시 및 지역 스케일에서 접경지역 공동체를 회복하는 대안을 모색하고자 한다.
  The line between North and South Korea was an imaginary product at the time of division, but three quarters of a century later, it has literally separated the local communities into two. Before the physical integration, we have to cross the line with the power of our imagination and process the recovery of the communities across the border. As a way to overcome the existing confrontation between the two Koreas, this session seeks alternative ways to restore the border communities at the urban and regional scales.
