Abstract:
Football provides one of the world’s most dynamic and complex illustrations of globalization processes. This lecture explores the interrelationships of football and globalization, with particular reference to Korean football and the 2010 World Cup finals in South Africa. The discussion draws significantly upon my recently published book, co-authored with Roland Robertson, and entitled Globalization and Football (Sage, London, 2009).
