서울대학교 지리학과를 졸업하고, 미국 일리노이대학교에서 박사학위를 받았다. 정치지리와 지정학을 전공하였고, 지정학적 담론, 동아시아 안보, 공간을 둘러싼 갈등에 관심이 많다. 최근의 연구와 활동은 북중 접경지역, 영토문제, 공간과 권력에 대한 질문에 초점을 맞추고 있다.
Dr. Sang-Hyun Chi is Assistant Professor of Geography at Kyung Hee University. His research draws on political issues in geography, such as: geopolitics, East Asia security issues, international/domestic conflicts, and territorial disputes. His recent research and academic activities cover: border dynamics of North Korea-China, territorial disputes, and relationships between space and power.
