중국 심양(瀋陽) 철서구(鐵西區)의 공간변화와 노동자 계급의식의 관계에 대한 연구로 2010년 중국인민대학(中國人民大學) 사회학과에서 박사학위를 받았다. 관심분야는 중국 동북(東北地域), 지방정부, 도시, 국유기업, 중국 사회주의, 만주국, 동아시아 근대국가 등이다.
Dr. Chulhyun Park received his Ph.D. degree in Sociology from Renmin University in China . His research interests are: the northeast region of China, regional government, cities, state-owned enterprises, Chinese socialism, Manchuria, and the modern state in East Asia.

『도시로 읽는 현대중국 1, 2』(편저),「개혁기 중국 신자유주의 공간 상하이 자유무역시험구와 그 외부」, 「개혁기 위계적 시민권과 중국식 도시사회의 부상」, 「사회주의 시기 중국 동북지역의 국가와 기업」을 저술하였다.
