연구

신혜란 교수는 도시정치, 신 지정학, 이주자 연구 분야에서 질적연구방법을 이용한 다양한 사례연구와 이론연구를 했다. 그 분야들을 접목시켜 이주자 일상과 담론에서 나타나는 지정학 관계의 역동성, 이동과 정착에 나타나는 사회적 권력과 개인적 적응과 전략에 대한 연구도 했다. 2005년부터 런던대 (University College London) 도시계획학과 교수로 재직하였고, 2013년부터 서울대학교 지리학과에서 재직 중이다.

 

HaeRan Shin focuses on urban politics, critical geopolitics, and migrant studies. By taking an actor-focused approach and by using qualitative research methods, she links geopolitical approaches with migrant studies to look at the geopolitical dynamics of migrant mobilities and settlement processes. She previously taught at the University College London, and she started teaching at Seoul National University in September 2013.
