연구

서울대학교 지리학과를 졸업하고 미국 오하이오 주립대학에서 지리학으로 박사 학위를 취득하였다. 싱가포르 국립대학 교수를 역임하고 2005년 서울대학교 사범대학 지리교육과 교수로 임용되었다. 정치지리와 경제지리를 전공하였으며 지역개발의 정치, 국가의 공간성, 동아시아의 발전주의적 도시화 등의 주제를 연구하고 있다.

 

Bae-Gyoon has been leading  SSK (Social Science Korea) Research project funded by National Research Foundation of Korea since 2011. He has BA and MA from Seoul National University and PhD from Ohio State University focusing on political and economic geography. He joined the Department of Geography Education, Seoul National University in 2005 having previously taught at National University of Singapore. Bae-Gyoon’s current research focus lies at the politics of regional development, spatiality of the state, and developmental urbanization in East Asia.
