{"id":9879,"date":"2018-10-23T00:03:47","date_gmt":"2018-10-23T00:03:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/snuac.snu.ac.kr\/eng\/?p=9879"},"modified":"2018-11-27T02:42:35","modified_gmt":"2018-11-27T02:42:35","slug":"notice-2019-spring-visiting-scholars-fellowship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/snuac.snu.ac.kr\/eng\/index.php\/2018\/10\/23\/notice-2019-spring-visiting-scholars-fellowship\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for Applications: 2019 Spring SNUAC Visiting Scholars Fellowship"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\">[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<strong>[2019 Spring SNUAC Visiting Scholars Fellowship]<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Purpose<br \/>\n<\/strong>To support scholars whose research and writings are related to Asia and also promote academic exchanges with SNUAC researchers by providing working space and small research grant.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Nature of the Fellowship<br \/>\n<\/strong>The nature of the fellowship is a small research grant that is given to the incoming visiting scholars with their own funds.\u00a0<span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>This is not an employment-based scheme, so the Institute will not be able to help fellowship recipients get entry visas;\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>however, we will provide\u00a0working space, library and internet access as well as links to campus-based scholars and networks for those in residence during term period.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Length of the Fellowship &amp; Number of Opening Positions<br \/>\n<\/strong>\u2013 The fellowship lasts for 6 months (From March 2019 to August 2019).<br \/>\n\u2013 The fellowship may be renewed every 6 months depending on the research outcomes.<br \/>\n\u2013 A total of six fellows will be selected at this time.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Eligibility<br \/>\n<\/strong>Fellowship applicant must meet the following requirements.<br \/>\n\u2013 Domestic and international researchers who conduct research on themes and regions of Asia.<br \/>\n\u2013 Hold a doctoral degree or have professional expertise that is equivalent to a doctoral degree.<br \/>\n\u2013 Must be able to reside at SNUAC and conduct research during the term period.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Support<br \/>\n<\/strong>\u2013 Research grant: KRW 3,600,000 (during the six months); provided at the successful completion of the fellow\u2019s responsibilities.<br \/>\n\u2013 Working space and access to SNU library and other research facilities.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Responsibilities (6 months)<br \/>\n<\/strong>\u2013 The fellow must present the interim results at the &lt;Asia Square Brownbag Seminar Series&gt; within three months of the beginning of the fellowship.<br \/>\n\u2013 The fellow must submit the final research report two weeks before the end of the fellowship.<br \/>\n\u2013 The fellow must contribute an article to SNUAC Asia Regional Review Team\u2019s webzine &lt;DiverseAsia&gt; (<a href=\"http:\/\/diverseasia.snu.ac.kr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">http:\/\/diverseasia.snu.ac.kr<\/a>)<br \/>\n\u2013 The fellow must acknowledge SNUAC when publishing articles, books, etc. that are based on research conducted during the fellowship period.<br \/>\n\u2013 Fellows are encouraged to actively participate in SNUAC events (e.g. academic\/exchange events) and are advised to form networks with other SNUAC research fellows.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Application Process<br \/>\n<\/strong>\u2013 In order to apply, applicants must complete and submit an online application at <a href=\"http:\/\/snuac.snu.ac.kr\/request\/?page_id=2565\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">http:\/\/snuac.snu.ac.kr\/request\/?page_id=2565<\/a>.
