Honorary Professor Chin-Sung Chung’s research team on ‘Korean Schools in Japan’ composed of Korean and Japanese historians, sociologists, anthropologists, and educationalists have attempted to examine the history and curriculum of Korean schools in Japan; and the symposium is organized\u00a0with the aim to raise awareness and activate interest within the academia. It is anticipated that this symposium will expand the basis of research on Joseon Schools from a holistic peace perspective of East Asia and the new cold war system that overcomes the history of Korean residents in Japan and the South-North relations.<\/p>\n

This symposium explored basic research on Joseon Schools and tried to raise awareness and activate interest within the academia. This event fundamentally looked back on the concept of \u2018Korean residents in Japan\u2019 and scholars from diverse fields conducting research on Joseon Schools from Korea and Japan gathered together for this event. The symposium began with a thorough exploration of ethnic education advanced by Joseon Schools within the context of colonization and examined the history and role of Joseon Schools.
