There is no typical ASEAN consumer, but some broad trends have emerged: a greater focus on leisure activities, a growing preference for modern retail formats and increasing brand awareness, and moving to online.<br \/>\nWith a population of 600 million Southeast Asia is poised to eventually become the third-largest e-commerce market in the world, second only to China and India and ultimately surpassing the U.S. Local, regional and global players stepped in this market and then Southeast Asia is said to be on the cusp of an e-commerce golden age.<br \/>\nHowever, there are barriers to overcome\u2013 logistics and payment system in order to develop the market.
