It seeks to critically examine the racism and hate speech that have surfaced within K-pop fandom communities, as well as the ways in which these dynamics have expanded into broader anti-Korean sentiment in the region. In particular, the seminar focuses on issues of discriminatory representation and exclusion experienced by Korean Wave audiences in Malaysia and Indonesia.
