His research focuses on industrial policy, global value chains, development finance, and structural transformation in developing countries, with a particular emphasis on Africa. His work examines how industrialization strategies, green transitions, and shifts in the global political economy shape development trajectories in the Global South. He has published widely on African industrialization, development states, and global production networks in leading academic journals such as World Development and Development and Change.
