Within the flow of modern Korean history, the book offers a multifaceted analysis of representative cultural texts and creators, structures of production and consumption, industries and markets, institutions and politics, as well as issues of power and resistance. It further encompasses technology, media, generational conflict, and the emotions of everyday life, illuminating broader social transformations and lived experiences in Korea.
