The author introduces the concept in earnest, proposing that Hallyu (the Korean Wave) should be understood not merely as a set of cultural \u201ccontents,\u201d but as a process of cultural production and distribution\u2014that is, on the level of the \u201cplatform.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"343\" data-end=\"731\">It also draws attention to transboundary phenomena such as the \u201cHallyu without Korea\u201d and the \u201cInvisible Hallyu,\u201d arguing that these reveal the limitations of traditional Hallyu discourses based on the nationality or cultural origin of content.
