In addition to the forum, the visit provided valuable opportunities for a series of meetings with major Chilean universities to discuss academic exchange and joint research collaboration.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"471\" data-end=\"983\">During the visit, SNUAC engaged with several leading institutions\u2014including Universidad de los Andes (Chile), co-host of the forum; Pontificia Universidad Cat\u00f3lica de Chile, widely regarded as one of South America\u2019s top universities; Universidad de Chile; and Universidad Alberto Hurtado\u2014to explore possibilities for future cooperation. The discussions reflected Chile\u2019s growing academic interest in Korea and Asia, as well as enthusiasm for expanding mutual exchange and research partnerships.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"985\" data-end=\"1585\">At Universidad de Chile, a meeting was held under the leadership of Rector Rosa Deves, joined by prominent faculty members from the humanities and social sciences. At Pontificia Universidad Cat\u00f3lica de Chile, Vice President for International Affairs Mar\u00eda Montt led a dynamic discussion with key East Asian studies scholars. Both universities expressed great interest in SNUAC\u2019s matrix-based regional research model, which integrates geographical areas with thematic approaches, and conveyed strong expectations for expanding academic exchange and joint projects with SNU and SNUAC. Rosario D\u00edaz Dom\u00ednguez, Director of International Affairs at Universidad de los Andes, participated in the entire conference program and expressed hopes to strengthen collaboration with SNU, highlighting various ongoing partnerships between Chilean and Korean universities. At Universidad Alberto Hurtado, Vice President Crist\u00f3bal Madero Cabib and Academic Director Andrea Salas met with the SNUAC delegation to discuss a roadmap for expanding cooperation within the <em data-start=\"2074\" data-end=\"2091\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Global e-School<\/em> program, agreeing to launch a regular joint course starting in 2026.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2168\" data-end=\"2772\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">As a research institute that encompasses the entire Asian region, SNUAC has continuously strengthened its identity as a hub for area studies and expanded its scope to include intercontinental research connecting Asia with other regions. Since the establishment of the Asia\u2013Africa Center in 2022 as one of SNUAC\u2019s key regional centers, the institute has become a major hub for African Studies in Korea.
