Since 2016, Prof. Sonnenberg has been involved in a large-scale research project to understand the nature of justice in Bhutan, a small landlocked country in the Himalayan mountain range. His findings suggest a new approach for international rule of law development collaborations: one that balances the tension between relativism and universalism.
