\/>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n<hr \/>\n<p>SNU Asia Center held an international academic conference in commemoration of its 10th anniversary at Youngone Hall, SNUAC, on September 27th. The conference was jointly organized with Korea Association of International Development and Cooperation, with the topic &#8216;Managing, Sharing, and Employing of Regional Information in Asia&#8217;. The overall program included the keynote speech by MooJin Choo, president of\u00a0the Korea Foundation for International Healthcare (KOFIH), and sessions on approaching Asia, managing and sharing of regional information in Asia, and employing of regional information.<\/p>\n<p>Along with the advancement in technology and large-scale expansions in data production, the importance of data continues to grow in Asian studies as well. SNUAC planned this academic conference to invite major research institutions and experts in Asia that produce and share regional information, and share cases of newly applying the data collected, managed, shared and accumulated in each region to the understanding of the field and research.<\/p>\n<p>Through this conference to which seven countries (China, Japan, Thailand, India, Lebanon, USA, and Korea) and eleven institutions had participated, we were able to not only expand our mutual understanding of the various methods to collect, manage and share data in each region and country in Asia, but also discuss about the future of expanding the synergy of research in research institutions in Asia through sharing and combining data as well as strengthening the cooperation.
