The Seoul National University Asia Center (SNUAC) is a global research institute based in Seoul, South Korea.<\/p>\n

SNUAC has been striving to construct the fundamental basis of Asian studies, foster next-generation scholars, and activate international exchanges with its aim of serving as a global hub for research in Asian studies by integrating regional and thematic research. Based on the achievements of the past decade, SNUAC will perform the role of a \u2018global platform for Asian studies, connecting Asia and the world and sculpting a new future\u2019 with the focus on Asia\u2019s future, exchanges and cooperation, and information sharing.<\/p>\n

SNUAC was officially launched in February 2009 in the backdrop of the Asian Era that demands enhanced understanding of various Asian countries by producing new knowledge. To pursue its mission to become a hub of Asian studies, SNUAC research projects are divided into different regions and themes. As of 2020, SNUAC comprises of\u00a0HK+ Mega-Asia Research Project Group, six\u00a0regional research centers, and eight thematic research programs, along with KOSSDA and Asia Regional Information Center which collect and manage regional information and data.\u00a0These research centers and programs are closely integrated, providing a solid foundation for generating new knowledge on Asian societies.<\/p>\n

SNUAC has also laid a strong foundation for its goals through a wide range of stimulating activities. In addition to promoting excellence in research, it supports various academic events, including special lectures, workshops, and national and international conferences.
