Hanbyul Shim studied architecture, management (M.A.) and urban planning (Ph.D.) at Seoul National University and was a visiting scholar at the University of British Columbia. He teaches research methodology and design publicness theory at Seoul National University and Ewha Womans University Graduate School. He is currently conducting fieldwork and analysis with researchers at the Center for Asian Urban Societies on the urbanization process and residents of new towns in Korea under the keyword “Gangnamization”. He has long been interested in the transformation of industrial spaces, the digitization of production, and the restructuring of urban economies, and has also conducted fieldwork on small-scale economic activities and smart cities. He has conducted research projects such as Daechi-dong (Seoul Museum of History) and Cheonggyecheon District (Cheonggyecheon Museum) and co-authored books such as Urban Regeneration Stories in New York, London, and Seoul and Smart Cities Beyond Technocracy.[\/vc_column_text][vc_text_separator title=”SELECTED PUBLICATIONS” title_align=”separator_align_left” border=”no”][vc_column_text]\ub17c\ubb38<\/strong><\/p>\n
