The book project on COVID-19 in East Asia was initiated by the SNUAC Civil Society Program in March 2020, led by Hyun-Chin Lim, the founding director of SNUAC. The project aimed to explore and compare the responses of East Asian countries, including South Korea, China, Japan, Taiwan, and Vietnam, to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In parts of Asia, citizens are increasingly involved in shaping their neighbourhoods and cities, representing a significant departure from earlier state-led or market-driven urban development. These emerging civic urbanisms are a result of an evolving relationship between the state and civil society.

본서는 한국의 수출기반 다국적 의류기업에 주목하여 이들이 아시아에서의 지역 연결성 확대와 경제사회 발전에서 미치는 영향과 역할을 살펴봄으로써 글로벌 의류산업에 대한 새로운 시각을 제시하고 있다. 지난 수 십년간 한국 의류생산기업들은 다국적 기업으로 변모하는 동시에, 글로벌 가치사슬에서 1차 공급업체로서 발돋움하는 경험을 하였다.

South Korea has continued to impress the world in the way it has harnessed social modernization, economic development, political democratization and, most recently, multi-faceted globalization. Relying on both established and inventive citizenship perspectives, the authors in this volume collectively show that all these diverse societal transformations and achievements can be concretely and systematically comprehended in conjunction with citizens reshaping identities, rights, and duties in civil society and national polity.

아시아의 민주주의와 자본주의 경제를 대표하는 일본, 한국과 인도네시아에서 불안정 노동과 그 결과에 영향을 미치는 글로벌한 요인과 국내적인 요인을 분석한다. 일본과 한국은 아시아의 발전된 자본주의 경제 체제이며, 인도네시아는 개발도상국이다. 아시아 연구, 비교정치경제학, 사회계층과 불평등, 노동사회학 배경을 가진 저자들이3개국의 불안정 노동의 동학을 비교 분석하여, 불안정 노동의 정도와 결과에 대한 통찰력을 제시한다.

In Social Economy in Asia: Realities and Perspectives, thirteen scholars from various academic disciplines analyze the reality and different understandings of the social economy in Asia.

The book Covid-19 and Governance is just out with 24 chapters by scholars from across the world.
They show how diverse variables shape responses to the pandemic in Asia, the Middle East, Europe, the Americas and Africa.
Responses are part of a confluence of experience with infectious diseases, healthcare capacity, government capability, trust in government,
state-society relations, varieties of market economies, and cultural outlooks.

이 책은 아시아지역에서 일어나고 있는 연결과 통합의 움직임에 대해 살펴보고자 한다. 네 편의 글은 동남아시아, 중앙아시아 등 아시아의 지역 차원을 대상으로 하고, 두 편은 한국을 중심으로 아시아 지역과의 교류와 연계에 대해 살펴본다. 특히 최근 각광받고 있는 신북방 ㆍ 신남방 정책의 구체적인 대상 국가와 지역에 대해 다루고 있다.
