On June 25, a student delegation from Sultan Qaboos University in Oman and Seoul National University’s LnL visited SNUAC. Prof. Gi Yeon Koo, an HK Research Professor at West Asia Center, provided the students with an overview of SNUAC and West Asia Center, highlighting its research achievements and subjects of study. Following this, Dr. So-yeon Ahn gave a presentation on the multifaceted development of relations between Oman and Korea in areas such as politics, economy, and culture, and discussed potential future developments. After the presentations, there was a Q&A session where students exchanged opinions on ways to promote and enhance human exchanges between Korea and Oman.

This book explores the Asianization of contemporary Asia, a trend that through neoliberal economic globalism has diluted the political effect of the EuroAmerican-dictated segmentation of Asia and instead facilitated and accelerated socioeconomic exchanges and collaborations among Asian nations themselves.

[Visiting Scholars] Pan Seok Shin
Pan Seok Shin is a professor emeritus of Hongik University. He is a former Dean of PSM Graduate School and College of Science-Technology of Hongik University. Professor Shin has a B.A. in Electrical Engineering from Seoul National University, and a Ph.D. in Electric Power Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, USA. He worked as a faculty researcher at the Oak-Ridge National Lab., USA in 2010, and has served as a member of Korea Standards Committee from 2014. He published several books and articles both in Korean and English
